SOLVENT VS WATER BASED DEGREASERS
Degreasers are split into 2 types – solvent based and water based. Solvent based degreasers work with aggressive chemical reactions, where water based degreasers use surfactants to clean.
Water based degreasers are much safer and work very well for general cleaning -and the best option is always the safest option do work well.

HOW DEGREASERS AND SURFACTANTS WORK
Most water based degreasers work on the same chemical principle – using surfactants (surface active agents) to lift and carry dirt. Surfactants have a hydrophobic (water hating) tail and hydrophilic (water loving) head . They form micelles, which pick up contaminants by reducing the cohesion forces between water molecules around contaminants.
